title: venom

i redesign the version, make it more mutated and menace.
i simply sketch out the shape, tone and lighting feature of it.
as u can see there are even a nose! just like spiderman.
i wanna create more human form and yet manace version.
all digital in photoshop!

here is my pencil work.

this is the ink.

title: venom, ironman & hulk

a concept cover works.
may thought of painting it.
pencil and inking at photoshop.

the most tough process is a individual sizes and i only work on one single side to show all of them.
it is quite long time i didn't ink my work except some concept sketch.

title: spawn

my spawn sketch concept for spawn comic.
still the early stage but still need more to workout.
sort of practice piece for me to moving into next piece.
it is digital work, i done it on photoshop and is mix-medium.
pencil, art pen and custom brush.
around 2 & half hour work.
the most challenging part is the body texture concept.
it burn me lot of brain cell to get that!

i want to create a more bold, solid and nemesis type of spawn.
a powerhouse round type, not any skinny and tradition spawn.
i also design a 'crossover' figure and the head set.
spawn have change radical in this recent year, from curse series to latest end game.

cymon

title: venom

some pretty old rough concept work for venom.:hoho:
re-work the character after the real venom dead.
finish in photoshop.

I would like to recommend putting all the artworks on page 1 (somehow maybe a small pictures linked to a bigger pictures?). You can post updates and sample image on latest page for info. Frankly I find it a bit cumbersome scrolling and clicking page by page (especially once the pages start to increase) for the image to appear. just my 2 cents.

very good idea but there's pictures limit in one post. can't exactly use pics linking.
but normal linking would work.
i actually planned to do that for ma photo gallery when i have the time, too.

Well, doesnt really need to be pics icon. For old artworks you can use links to imageshack/etc or link to the post page . Save space and time for people would wish to revisit the artworks posted.

it will be lot of work for the ts.
and the members can't discuss on their artwork too.
we hardly know which is which on discussion and some prolem about link around the thread.
most of the artwork is update from from to end, so it mean the new work always at the back.

the ts also not need to troublesome to reserved all the page at the front for the future use.

this is what the admin pm me about this issue coz i already voice out to them.

yeah, maybe.
sometime start from the school also, the semi half bake lecturer will end up lot of half bake cup cake students.
they don't even dare to face the reality that they are lost in time or out of the league when come to what is real design, concept or ideas.

until now lot of lecturer in art school are still don't not know/use what is digital art.
still teaching the basic same old thing: hand skill stuff !

I agree.
why they don't improve ?
always teaching the old method or old things.
Sometime they just ignore their student's idea or concept.

because they don't improved themself.
they don't and learn new thing, read new books or learn some new software.
most of them is only know PHOTOSHOP or CORELDRAW stuff:laugh:
maybe some basic 3dmax stuff.

quite a bad habit for lecturer.
they ignore student works for few reason:

- they are lack of what they know coz the student keep online to dig new source, stuff, ideas and information and they spend most of their time walking around with the title lecturer.

- to maintain 'lecturer is always smarter'

- no ideas what they talking or doing, so it is better reject the student ideas and ask them to follow their way.

one is part time, but she is a lecturer from a government university.

another one now, who just came to follow up the work of a lecturer who just gone, is a former student. he was said he was once a top student. but critisim he gave is not bad, can help at least.

Things that some people consider art...may just purely be for 'pleasure' sake (or some might say twisted interpretation). You say art, I say another private part that should not be viewed by horny people (or minors) or in other words, vulgar  Thus debatable. From what I see at deviantart, some are arts, some are just plain pictures of "pussies (or naked women)" of their wifes/gfs with the titles "art" that're, IMO, not art.

art is very subjective as one thing might be viewed as art by some people but not by another.

so... in your opinion, they are not while for some maybe they are. even some say porn is art.

for me, there isn't anything that is not art but... depends whether if it's good art or bad art. a drawing of a 3 years old is no doubt an art, too but... whether if it's good or bad, it's one very own opinion.
